Franyz Kitchen Nigerian Cuisine is a catering and take-out food service that specializes in authentic Nigerian cuisine. We offer a variety of dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds, including jollof rice, egusi soup, moin-moin, and plantain pie. Our mission is to introduce Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike to the delicious flavors of our homeland cuisine. Our vision is to be the go-to source for authentic Nigerian cuisine in Canada and beyond.
Meet Frances
Frances (she/her), is the Owner and Head Chef of Franyz Kitchen. She has more than 10 years of experience in food service, and her unique take on traditional African cuisine and impact on local gastronomy has been a centrepiece of several newspaper articles in local Halifax newspaper publishers, such as The Coast, and The Chronicle Herald. She immigrated from Nigeria to Halifax in 2010 to study. Frances is a hairstylist and caterer and is passionate about fine dining, hairstyling, events and mental health awareness.
Frances has earned her B.A in Gender & Women Studies with a Certificate in Disability Management. She became involved with Halifax Pride first as a volunteer in 2013 and moved her way from Weekend Volunteer to Team Lead. Frances was also involved with Pride Toronto for 3 years as Team Lead and was a member of the board.
